Sometimes you want dessert. Sometimes you want a drink. This chocolate soda recipe gives you both.
It comes from The Elvis Presley Cookbook, our September Cookbook Club pick of the month, and it’s exactly the kind of old-school treat that feels fun again: chocolate syrup, fizzy water, and a big scoop of ice cream.
Simple, nostalgic, and very easy to make.
Chocolate Soda
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
- 1 tablespoon milk
- ½ cup carbonated water, divided
- 1 large scoop vanilla or chocolate ice cream
Instructions
- Place the chocolate syrup in a 10-ounce glass. Add the milk and ¼ cup of the carbonated water. Stir.
- Add the ice cream and the remaining ¼ cup carbonated water.
Why We Love It
There’s something very charming about a chocolate soda. It’s creamy, fizzy, chocolatey, and feels a little more special than pouring yourself a regular soda.
Vanilla ice cream keeps it classic, while chocolate ice cream makes the whole thing extra rich. Either way, this one is basically instant diner nostalgia.
