Mocktails: Moment to Moment

GLASSWARE: COCKTAIL GLASS
GARNISH: CHOCOLATE-COVERED ESPRESSO BEANS

Tasting notes: rich, creamy, sweet

To make the most of the chocolatey flavor here, look for coffee beans from South or Central America that feature a medium- dark roast.

  • 3 oz. freshly brewed coffee
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 oz. heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Chocolate Ganache (below)
  1. While the espresso or coffee is still hot, stir the honey into it. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator.
  2. Place the sweetened espresso or coffee, heavy cream, and ganache in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously until combined.
  3. Double strain into the cocktail glass, garnish with the chocolate-covered espresso beans, and enjoy.

CHOCOLATE GANACHE

  • 1⁄2 lb. chocolate
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  1. Place the chocolate in a heatproof mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. Place the heavy cream in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Pour the cream over the chocolate and let the mixture rest for 1 minute.
  4. Gently whisk the mixture until thoroughly combined. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator.
