GLASSWARE: ROCKS GLASS
GARNISH: KIWI SLICE
Tasting notes: tropical, bright, fruity
While many fruits partner well with kiwi, apple stands above them all.
- Salt, for the rim
- 1 1⁄2 oz. apple juice
- 3⁄4 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1⁄4 cup peeled and diced kiwi
- 1⁄2 oz. Simple Syrup (below)
- 3⁄4 oz. fresh orange juice
- Wet the rim of the rocks glass and coat it with salt.
- Place the remaining ingredients in a blender, add 5 oz. crushed ice, and puree until smooth.
- Pour the drink into the rocks glass, garnish with the slice of kiwi, and enjoy.
SIMPLE SYRUP
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- Place the water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil.
- Add the sugar and stir until it has dissolved.
- Remove the pan from heat and let the syrup cool before using or storing in the refrigerator, where it will keep for up to 3 months.
